A FIRST ATTEMPT AT HIGH DYNAMIC RANGE (HDR) IMAGING

Fishpond Church Stained Glass WindowI saw HDR Imaging in a magazine recently and thought I would give it a go. Basically you take three or more photographs of the same image, one of which is correctly exposed whilst the others are one stop under and over exposed. The images are then combined using special software to create an image which is rich in shadow and vibrant colours. The effect is especially pleasing with cloud and Sky. I plan to practice and refine this technique over the coming weeks. I am using the Photomatix Pro 3.0 software which makes the process simple and easy.
