This weekend I headed out to Symonds Yat in the Wye valley to enjoy a wonderful day down by the river Wye for a sport of geocahing, a moderate walk and caving. On the way back we stopped off at Severn Springs (at the top of birdlip hill) for some food. On Sunday I took the train to Stroud a then walked back along the Thames and Severn canal route to Kemble. I stopped at two rather beautiful (if very busy) country pubs on the way back and had fun trying to follow the line of the canal tunnel without a map. I still have an urge to explore the Sapperton tunnel which is three miles long – I can always remember visiting the tunnel as a child and being fascinated by the echoes of the dripping water. I walked a total of 25 Km on what was another stunningly beautiful spring weekend.
