Day 12: Minehead to Clevedon

Jonathan at MineheadAwaking early from my hiding place under a sailing boat I had to bide my time for most of the morning while I waited for the tide. Setting course for Clevedon, I made my way out across the water towards Steep Holm Island. The trip seemed to take forever, although conditions were ideal. After around three hours I had Brean Fort  to my right and the island to my left. Continuing on, I passed Weston Super mare. On reaching Sand Point I had some fun in the tidal race which also had breaking waves. From there on it was a hard slog to complete the 50Km trip to reach Clevedon Pier. Thouroughly knackered I pulled up on the slipway and collapsed on to the floor. Later on I mustered some strength to get some energy inside me and after that I was fine. In the evening I met Rebekah and Tim for some food. I slept next to the boat on the beach. A Knackering (but thoroughly enjoyable) paddle.
