Day 22: Preston to Glasson

Glasson SkiesAwaking early I set off from Salwick along the Chester Canal into more rain and wind. I stopped under several bridges for a quick respite from the conditions before arriving into Galstang where I had breakfast and looked around the town. I also had a drink in a wonderful old Tithe barn Pub/Restaurant down by the canal. I checked the in shore forecast and was a little disheartened to learn that the strong winds and rain would continue for the next few days. Rain continued for most of the afternoon. I eventually arrived att he junction with the Glasson branch of the canal. I portaged down to lock five where I set up camp before walking down to lock six where I ate and sank a few pints at the Mill.
