Today I took my Oru kayak out on to the water for the first time – I took it down to Surbiton which is where I often go paddle-boarding. Taking the boat on the train was no problem whatsoever. There was a decent stream on the river and very little wind when I arrived and setting up took me around 20 minutes – I had already assembled the boat several times inside the house. I then headed upstream to Hampton Court to put the boat through its paces. The kayak boat was enjoyable to paddle and very responsive. I also got to test my new bluetooth speaker in the boat which also performed very well. The journey back down the river only took 20 minutes thanks to the flow on the river. The only small issue I had was with the spraydeck that I purchased – I need to find one that fists a little better.
