Avebury Ring is one of England’s most mysterious sites and although popular is not so much on the radar of overseas tourists when compared with Stone Henge. The beautiful setting of Avebury seems amillion miles a way from the ugly town of Swindon although in reality it is only a few miles down the road. Avebury can be easily reached by bus. I would recommend spending a day there – wander around at your leisure before having a couple of drinks in the pub and watching some new age antics.
