This weekend we headed down to West Dorset on the train to visit family. This was Elias’s first long train journey; we set off from London Waterloo on Friday at 10:20 and arrived into Axminster at around 13:00. We spent the afternoon in Fishpond Bottom. On Saturday we spent the day with more family and on Sunday morning we headed down to Charmouth beach.
Due to engineering works, we returned to London on the first train of the day to go all the way to London. Everyone else also tried to catch this train so it was extremely busy.
Today I took Elias on his first visit to Chatham Docks. He loved wandering around the historic lifeboat collection and joining the tour of the Submarine “Ocelot”. Tickets are valid for 12 months so we will hopefully arrange a few more visits over the coming months.
Elias and I have been working on rebuilding this shelter in South Norwood Country Park – it’s in a lovely little clearing just off the main track in the Northern sector.
Today we headed down to the Softplay facility at Beckenham Spa. Although a little bit pricey it is a good indoor local option when the weather isn’t great. It was much quieter now that the older children have gone back to school.
Today we headed over to Crystal Palace to play in our Tenstile tree tent.
Today we headed down to Shoreditch to attend Elias’s first rave “Fun DMC” at the Last Days of Shoreditch.
Today we headed down to Peckham for a soft play session at Peckham Pulse Healthy Living Centre on Melon Road. The session lasted an hour and the babies really enjoyed playing. Afterwards, we had a meal and a drink outside Honest Burgers on Blenheim Grove.
Today we went to the monthly “Bring along Baby” cinema screening at Stanley Halls in South Norwood. The screening is really well run – the film today was “United Kingdom” which I really enjoyed.
