A visit to Hyde Park

Today I took Elias to Hyde Park in central London for a picnic and play. The weather wasn’t perfect but it was still a lovely day out.

Pop goes the Weasel – A visit to the Eagle Public House

Today we headed down to the corner of Shepherdess Walk and City Road to visit the Eagle public house which is name checked in the nursery ryhme “Pop goes the Weasel”

Up and down the city road

Pop! goes the weasel.

A visit to Primrose Hill and Regents Park

Today we headed out to visit Primrose Hill and Regents Park in London. Arriving into London Bridge we took the Northern Line to Chalk Farm before walking up to Primrose Hill and enjoying some lunch at the lookout which provides a great view over central London. We then made our way down to Regents park where we visited some of the play areas and formal gardens.

Electric Unicycling Tricks – Piggy-in-the-Middle Penny Spin Boomerangs, Self Sustaining Penny Spins

Two new tricks that I have filmed today, both of which are variations of the penny spin but this time I have deliberately made the wheel spin on an elliptical orbit. Under certain conditions, this sets off a self-sustaining spin.
The Piggy-in-the-middle penny spin boomerang requires the wheel to complete at least one orbit around the rider before the rider remounts.
The self-sustaining penny spin is just a less controlled version of the above – the wheel will continue to spin until it either hits something or the rider remounts!

A visit to the Royal Greenwich Tall Ships Regatta

Today we went to watch some of the beautiful tall ships arriving for the Royal Greenwich Tall Ships Regatta at Woolwich Arsenal – it’s always a pleasure to see so many large sailboats moored up together. We also took another walk under the Thames using the Woolwich foot tunnel.

A visit to Brockwell Park

Today we headed out to visit Brockwell Park in South London. This park is well maintained and has some lovely views towards central London. There is a BMX track and a very popular children’s play area.

Electric Unicycle Tricks- Bar Jumps and Penny Spin Boomerangs

A very quick electric unicycling practice session video from this morning showing some bar jumps and a Pennyspin (returning) Boomerang around a cone.

Apologies for the poor quality of the footage – this was due to my slider rail malfunctioning.

Electric Unicycling Tricks – Crossover Returning Boomerang

Just a bit of electric unicycling fun from this morning’s practice session – an extension of the “returning boomerang” – where the rider takes the opposite path to the wheel with both the wheel and the rider returning to the start point at the same time. This tick could potentially be jazzed up by tumbling (somersaulting) around the circle, or perhaps performing it around something more interesting than a set of cones!

Electric Unicycling | Bromley Skatepark Revisited

A quick film from Bromley Skatepark in South London. I’m a bit rusty at present as I haven’t had a lot of time to practice.

Kingston – Hampton Court – Kingston

Today we headed down to Kingston upon Thames with Holly, Emily and Marianne where we headed to the Slug and Lettuce for lunch. From Kingston we then walked along the old barge path to Hampton Court and back – a total distance of approximately 8 miles.
