- Redevelopment and redesign of the trust’s Medicine prescription and administration record in conjunction with other stakeholders. June 2010 (Launched July 2010)

- To act as Pharmacy Computer Systems Manager and act as the key link with the third party supplier and the IT department.
- Ensure day to day running of pharmacy computer system.
- Ensure the data integrity of the JAC system by undertaking regular maintenance on the JAC system, and ensuring that back ups are made of the system data and operating system according to JAC recommendations and local procedures.
- Control access to the JAC system for existing and new users with the username and password control system, allocating those programmes appropriate for individuals role(s).
- Troubleshooting and providing first line support and solutions to system faults, within capabilities, or escalation to the third party supplier (JAC) or the Trust IT department.
- To train pharmacy and medical staff, in the functions of the JAC system that they require to perform their role.
- Ensure the availability of the necessary reporting functionality and data to provide monthly, quarterly and annual information from the system on drug usage and expenditure to all relevant internal departments (including Finance) and external service providers.
- To plan the implementation of hardware and/or software upgrades to the system whilst ensuring minimal disruption to service provision.
VMAX | Automated Storage and Retrieval System | ARX
I am familiar/proficient in the use and troubleshooting of the following components:
- VMAX (x2) – automated storage systems (robots).
- Prolog – Automated system for uploading packs into the automated storage system.
- Wardbox filling - allows large orders to be separated into ward or tote boxes, ready for distribution.
- ARiM – a translation layer (interface) between messages sent from the JAC pharmacy IT system and the ARX robot.
- Conveyor system – delivers the items from the cabinets to the ward box shoots and dispensary
- Troubleshooting and providing first line support and solutions to ARX robot system faults, within capabilities, or escalation to the third party supplier (ARX) as appropriate.
- Keep ARX system drug database up to date.
- Ensure day to day running of the ARX system.
- Completing various housekeeping tasks on a weekly basis (E.g. rebooting management control PCs, outputting expired stock)
- To train pharmacy staff, in the functions of the ARX system that they require to perform their role.
ARIA | Electronic Medical Records and Information Management System | Varian
